The Villa Uphagena

The cuisine at the Villa Uphagena is known for its refined Polish cuisine with Kashubian elements. Chef Michał Guz pays much attention to fresh, regional ingredients, which constitute the basis of the restaurant menu. Apart from the permanent menu card, the chef changes the menu seasonally and additionally offers another interesting  dish out of the card on a daily basis, e.g. a bison steak. The menu is dominated by meat and fish.

We will seasonally be offered game, in which case our palates can enjoy such delights as ragout made of wild boar, deer, roe and rabbit pâté. It is also recommended to order the restaurant’s own sturgeon or superb pike-perch.

Such famous people as the Prince of Monaco, Jean Michel Jarre and David John Gilmour from Pink Floyd visited this venue.

The Villa should be visited not only because of its delicious food, but also for its beautiful architecture. The building was constructed in the early twentieth century by one of the wealthiest people of Gdańsk- Rudolf Patschke, the owner of the famous company called Gustaw Springer & Nach Likor Fabrik, producing Gdańsk liqueurs. The Villa is a mix of styles- Baroque, Rococo and Art Nouveau. Inside there are numerous original elements such as e.g. the famous Kadyny majolica – one of the three preserved ones in Europe. The villa arrangement of restaurant rooms gives guests the sensation of effortless elegance and intimacy.
